I’m sure you must have heard so many good things and bad things about the olive oil lately. All the bad things refer to the fact that there are a lot of people and companies which forge olive oil by putting all kinds of additives into it to yield a lower price. These practices bring them a higher profit as they sell the product as extra virgin olive oil.
Olive oil’s use for beauty dates back hundreds of years. The good thing about it is that it forms a barrier at the epidermis’ level that keeps the moisture inside. This is why this night cream is so nourishing and hydrating.
You’ll Need The Following For This Recipe:
- 1 tbsp coconut oil
- ¼ cup extra virgin olive oil
- ¼ tsp Vitamin E oil (2 capsules)
- 1 tsp beeswax/jojoba wax
- 5 drops Lavender essential oil (other flavors, like Roman Chamomile, also has a relaxing effect)
Directions:
1 Combine the oils and the wax in a glass recipient.Place it in a pan half filled with water, over low heat. Stir occasionally. When the wax is melted, remove from heat and add the Vitamin E oil and essential oil.
2 Pour the mixture in the storage container and let it cool until it solidifies. If you want a butter consistency, you may put it in the freezer until it starts to harden. After that take it out and mix it with a hand blender until it becomes fluffy. Use every night before going to bed.
